As part of the Ob Hospitalist Group (OBHG) clinical team, an Ob Hospitalist embraces the following focus on delivering a quality Ob Hospitalist program: 

• Delivery of quality care that is evidence-based and consistent

• financial stewardship. This position will be part of a
• team of clinicians at the assigned site working together with the support of the Site Director of Ob Hospitalists,
• Market Medical Director (MMD), Medical Director of Operations (MDO) and Director of Operations (DOO) to ensure that the program is meeting OBHG’s and the hospital’s operational goals.

ABOUT THE AREA

Waxahachie, TX, is a charming city located just south of Dallas, known for its rich history and beautifully preserved Victorian architecture. The city’s historic downtown features unique shops, cafes, and the famous Ellis County Courthouse, a stunning example of Romanesque Revival architecture. Waxahachie is also known as the "Crepe Myrtle Capital of Texas" due to its vibrant crepe myrtle blooms that line the streets each summer. The city hosts several annual events, including the Scarborough Renaissance Festival and the Texas Country Reporter Festival, which attract visitors from across the state. Responsibilities: 

• Delivery of High-Quality Healthcare Services 
• Stay updated on the latest medical research and implement relevant findings into medical procedures 
• Provide comprehensive obstetrical and gynecological care to patients, including offering contraceptive services in facilities that provide such services 
• Maintain consistent delivery of clinical services as defined by the program
• Offer direct patient care to high-risk individuals, even in situations where Maternal Fetal Medicine support is only accessible through remote consultations 
• Contribute to the establishment of clinical protocols and guidelines at the designated location
• Ensure adherence to hospital guidelines, policies, and protocols in all aspects of practice 
• Align care delivery with the core values of OBHG
• Participate in peer reviews and investigations of clinical incidents when required 
• Work collaboratively with the team to promote hospitalist involvement in quality improvement initiatives 
• Conduct daily face-to-face handoffs between clinicians using a standardized approach
• Attend daily Labor and Delivery board rounds 
• Engage in clinical drills to enhance preparedness and response capabilities
• Coordinate with OBHG's quality department as needed 
• Collaborate with OBHG Certified Nurse Midwives at the assigned site
• Complete mandatory educational courses such as ACLS, BLS, NRP, and FHR training
• Fulfill all required corporate training programs

Clinicians are eligible for coverage with a shift commitment of 5 shifts per 28-day block. Benefits are effective the first of the month following 30 days from the date of hire.

Requirements:

• Serve as the ‘Safety Officer’ on Labor and Delivery to ensure that all patients, regardless of their primaryadmitting clinician, have the safest possible outcomes
• Support community physicians and midwives through clinical assistance as requested including practice coverage as requested and as safely available
• Participate in hospital meetings (e.g. department meetings, peer review, quality improvement)
• Active involvement in the daily activities of the labor and delivery unit
• Reinforce the clinical aspects of OBHG value proposition at the hospital
• Collaborate with Site Director of Ob Hospitalists, MMD, MDO, and DOO to ensure that clinical services are meeting hospital objectives and expectations
• Arrive on time for assigned coverage periods
• Work with the team to ensure that there is 100% schedule coverage at assigned site

Qualifications: 

• Board Certified or Active Candidate Ob/Gyn Physician
• Licensed to practice medicine in the state of assigned site
• Highly relational, able to build strong rapport and positive working relationship with all stakeholders
• (Hospital leadership, hospitalist teams, nurses, staff physicians, and OBHG corporate staff)
• Team oriented, service minded, goal focused individual who believes in the client's mission
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Preferred Skills/Credentials/Experience/Education
• Significant experience with obstetrical emergency care
• Mental and Physical Demands (per ADA guidelines)
